My weird year-end tradition; for a cause

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you, my weird year-end tradition that’s been going on for few years now. It happens to be blood donation during the week between Christmas and New Year. Tuesday evening (Dec 27th), I participated in a blood donation drive conducted by American Red Cross at Lancaster, PA.

During that time I caught hold someone who could click a few snaps in my mobile and couple of those pics are below..

That was me, had to go straight from work (in office attire with tie….)

That’s my donation set ready to be placed in frozen containers, to go to blood bank…

It gives me great pleasure and satisfaction to be part of such charity / social causes, since they are very helpful for those in need of blood. Every time after a blood donation, I receive and thanking letter from Red Cross letting me how my donation was helpful. This is my 12th time doing a blood donation and I feel I have to do it more often..

There are only few things that we cannot manufacture, and blood is one of those.. So try to be a donor, work for a cause, how often you can afford to…

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all…

I wanted to wish all readers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I hope you all are done with gift wrappings and ready to make presents to your dear ones and celebrate this year’s Christmas as good as any Christmas.

On a personal note, this is a special Christmas for me as we set our first Christmas tree  in our home. Not much of decoration was done apart from assembling the tree and set the   branches apart. I am sharing some of the pics below…  (click on the images for larger images)

Though I am a Hindu,  I have been celebrating Christmas since a decade or so. We used to go to a local Church on the birthday of Jesus Christ and have a fun filled rest of the day. I wish all readers once again a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays…

Publishing 100th Blog on LearnSQLWithBru

Today, I am happy to share that I am writing my 100th blog on www.LearnSQLWithBru.com. On this note, I would like to personally thank all the readers who have been visiting this blog. I would also like to thank my wife Tripura Medishetty, who has always taken care of me and without her support, I would not have dedicated a ton of hours towards my blog and this website.

My primary goal in writing these blogs, is to share what I continuously learn and help readers to learn at least one single topic in SQL Server by reading my blog posts. I hope I have not disappointed my readers. Having said that I am looking forward to write more often in the future and cover as many areas and topics as possible on SQL Server. If you have been following this site, we recently started a new section called Learn SQL Server, which will focus on teaching SQL Server to first time users.

Apart from writing regular blog posts on this site, I am also planning to write more beginner topics as part of our new section Learn SQL Server for Beginners. Re-start the daily SQL dose, (SQL Tidbits, from Jan 1st 2012) and also expand sections under Learn SQL Server, for Mid-level and Advanced SQL users and so on……

As always, I seek your feedback and comments on what new sections / areas can make this site better..
